Artist Statement

My creations are for me a journey of the heart, an exploration process of color dynamically and spiritually flowing from inner emotions you didn’t know you had. From past and present experiences allowing for a flowing sense of freedom merging the spirit into unknown territory from a blank canvas to a beautiful creation of layers, of color and textures. What will it become, what colors will invite the eye, how will my emotions play in that process and how can I create depth while weaving the paint and textures into a dance.

Michele Hutchins, Contemporary Fine Artist lives and works in Arizona where her career leads her to new projects and commissions in art. Michele has been pursuing her journey as an artist since she was a young child. Studying Fine Art at Northern Illinois University as an undergraduate in Fine Art, graduating with a BFA in Visual Communications and Minor in Fine Art, she then went on to pursue her master’s at the Academy of Art University, of San Francisco. Hutchins’ works are primarily in oil, acrylic and mixed media. Her work combines loud, vivid colors and textures creating a highly unique energy on canvas or paper. You can find her recent works at Gallery Michele in Carefree, Arizona.

Michele contributes much of her inspiration to the spirit that surrounds the subject of many of her pieces. She constructs spaces between art object and lived experience. She seeks to create unique original impactful images. Creating simplicity with form and structure in her creations to filter out the noise, to allow the viewer to experience the essence of the moment as was felt during its creation. She has acquired commissions for clients in Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, and Ohio and will commission paintings for people looking to customize their interiors with an original piece of art to complement their homes.

“To express myself through this artform has always been a way to free my soul. I am always surprised and amazed at how color and form emerge from this process.”
